A botnet is an army of internet-connected devices such as phones, tablets, and PCs. They are all controlled by a certain malware or hacker. A botnet is a blend of two words. Robot and network. These devices that are under control of the hacker are very infectious. Like a disease.
If I want to explain it a bit easier, (I’m not sure if this makes it easier to understand) A hacker, hacks a device and that device goes and infects another device. Soon, the hacker has a big army of malicious devices. Then hacker uses the devices to cause crimes in the cyber world.
