Biggest Animals in the World

Today we will be taking a look at some of the strongest animals in the world. Some of them might not be what you expected. Let’s get started!

Now you might think that some of the biggest animals in the world are dinosaurs. Well, that might be true, but they are extinct now. But this animal is not extinct and it is just as impressive as the dinosaurs.

Say hello to the Blue Whale. It is the biggest animal in the oceans and on the land. Not that it lives on the land, but it is currently the largest animal in the world. The biggest blue whale that ever existed is 190 tons! That is 380,000 pounds! The heart of the blue whale alone can weigh up to an average car. They are not only the largest animals, but the heaviest. It’s also extremely long, as it can be 100 feet at average.

Next up we’ll be taking a look at the monstrous African Bush Elephant! I also wrote about this giant in my other Short Story, “Strongest Animals In The World.” Be sure to check it out! Now, back to the elephant. This beast is the largest animal on land. If the blue whale could live on land, (which it can’t) it would be the biggest on land and in water. But this elephant is the largest animal on land. Just land, not in the oceans. They can weigh up to 13,000 pounds!

After the elephant comes up the Giraffe! It is also known as another name Giraffa. But it is mainly known as a giraffe. It is the biggest land animal by height! You’ve probably seen them at zoos, but how tall are they really? Their necks alone could be 6 feet long! And their tongue is half a meter long. It’s handy for reaching out to trees and getting leaves. Fun fact: The giraffe’s tongue might be half a meter long, but it is pitch black!

What’s that? A plane? No! A kite? Never! It’s a Wandering Albatross! The biggest bird in the world by wingspan! Its wingspan can be up to 12 feet long! Now that’s big! It’s also the largest bird in the world. Due to its long wings, it can glide in the air longer than a normal bird would.

This is another big bird, the usual Common Ostrich. It is the biggest bird in the world by height and weight! Even though the ostrich cannot fly, it can definitely run! The fastest known speed of a common ostrich is pretty outstanding compared to some other animals. Clocking at 43 miles per hour, it can outrun some of its predators! Good for you ostrich!

Now, there are plenty more of animals I could talk about, but it would take far to long. So, I’ll be talking about one last animal today. This is the only reptile on the list, hello Saltwater Crocodile! Known as “The Croc,” this is the biggest reptile in the world. This monster-like animal can grow over 23 feet in length and weigh up to 1,000 pounds! These notorious animals are known for eating preys up to their size and even though when you see one in a cage, they might seem slow and sluggish, don’t be fooled! These animals can strike very quickly.

Well, that’s all for now! I’ll see you next time!
