Weird Dog’s Missing Treats (Part 2)

This is Weird Dog. He is very, very weird. But he is also really hungry. (P.S. He isn’t a cat AT ALL.)

In Weird Dog’s Missing Treats (Part 1), we left off at the part where Weird Dog had just woken up and saw that his treats were missing, and that his contraption map was on the floor.

Weird Dog could hardly believe what he had saw, his plan was flawless! Or so he thought it was. *A momentary flashback*, We’re looking at Weird Dog, he is throwing his contraption map out of the window. . .

Angrily, Weird Dog threw himself to the floor and had a tantrum. After a while, he stood back up. He would make a new contraption and catch the thief this time. And so, he set a goal, to catch the thief before Mr. and Mrs. Adams came back to town.

And so, he set out his plan to build another trap for the thief. This time he built a dome around his bowl full of treats. He was sure that the thief could not get it this time. (He hurriedly drew out a picture of his new contraption for you guys to see.)

Second try, here we go!

He made it tight and sturdy, and even put extra scotch tape around it! The holes between the sticks were so small that he couldn’t even get through himself! He was pretty sure that his trap would work out this time.

He impatiently jumped on his pogo stick while he waited for night to come. When night finally came, he curled up in his little corner, and waited. And waited. And waited. He felt tired and thought that if he fell asleep for a bit, it wouldn’t do any harm. Would it?

With that thought in his mind, he fell asleep. When he woke up, he looked at the clock. It was 12:05 PM. He heard scuttling, and scurrying. In the moonlight, he saw a small shape on his treats. It was putting the treats into a little sack. When it saw that Weird Dog was looking at it through the darkness. it ran.

With a loud yowl, Weird Dog leaped up and jumped after the thief. But the thief scurried through his cat flap and ran into the night. Weird Dog had gotten a glance at the thief before it had left. A mouse. A teeny-weeny mouse. No less! A mouse was taking his treats!

But why? They were cat treats. He had to get to the bottom of this. He irritably went to sleep, knowing that there was nothing else that he could do.

To be continued, in Weird Dog’s Missing Treats (Part 3).
